How do I obtain Traffic Source IDs?

By Default, Native Ads passes traffic source IDs for every ad click to the analytics program (i.e. Google Analytics) through the utm_medium parameter. This makes it easy to see how each widget is performing through the analytics software.

If using Google Analytics go to Acquisition then Campaigns then All Campaigns.

Next, click Secondary Dimension above the table then Acquisition then Medium. This will create a report similar to the screenshot below.

In this report there are a number of useful metrics for each traffic source ID including bounce rate, average page views, and average session duration. If custom goals were set in Google Analytics, they will appear on the right as well.

If some of the traffic source IDs are performing below standards, it is possible to block them from sending traffic to your campaign. Simply copy them into a notepad file, click the Campaign Optimization button then upload the file to block those traffic source IDs from sending traffic to that campaign.

Loving the results one (or more traffic) source is providing and want to exclusively receive traffic from only that source? Simply set up a whitelist.

To setup a whitelist, open the Edit Settings page for the campaign, select Site and Widget Blocking, and click Setup Whitelist. Then be prompted to Upload a Whitelist.

Note: Change the parameter {widget_id} appears by Editing your Campaign Settings by moving the {widget-id} macro to another part of the url string.

For Example: To move {widget_id} to utm_term you would add the parameter &utm_term={widget_id}.
